Ipswich Town keeper Nick Hayes was on the losing side with loan club Solihull Moors as they lost on penalties to Bromley in the National League play-off final at Wembley.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw after extra-time, taking the game to a shout-out, with Hayes saving one spot-kick - but the Ravens won 4-3 to reach the EFL for the first time in the club's 132-year history.

Andy Whing's side will look to bounce back as they travel to Wembley again this Saturday when they face Gateshead in the final of the FA Trophy, coincidentally having beaten Bromley 2-1 in the semi-final of that competition.

Hayes joined the Moors in December, where he has enjoyed a successful spell, making 24 league appearances as they finished fifth in the National League.

The 25-year-old is out of contract with Town this summer having spent the last two seasons as the fourth-choice keeper.

He also had a brief loan spell at Southend United at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
